Samsung Galaxy S26 series will have a silicon-carbon massive battery

Galaxy S26 series

Samsung is going to launch the top model of 2025, the Galaxy S25 series, in a few days. Which can have a battery capacity of up to 5000mAh. However, this battery capacity seems a bit lacking in the flagship smartphone. But in the coming time, there is a rumor of using a silicon carbon battery in 2026, which will be in the Samsung Galaxy S26 series. Let’s know in detail what is the truth.

Samsung currently uses lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries for all its flagship and budget smartphones. These take up more space and are low in density. However, Samsung has so far failed to add batteries that exceed 5000mAh to its flagship phones. However, reports from China suggest that Samsung will now use silicon carbon batteries for all its devices. These offer lower density and more power.

Giving detailed information, Jukanlosreve said that Samsung will use a silicon carbon battery in its flagship phone Samsung Galaxy S26 series in 2026. Which will have at least a 6000 battery capacity. If a silicon battery is used then the design of Galaxy S26 will be thin and heat-controlled.

What changes does Samsung expect from the shift to silicon carbon batteries?

As of now, many mobile companies like Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo, and Realme have started using silicon carbon batteries in their phones. This increases the power density and also provides safety to the user. It is very safe in terms of heat and takes up less space. Due to this, flagship phones of many mobile companies have started becoming thin and light in weight. People are switching towards this new technology.

Keeping this new technology in mind, Samsung has decided to switch to silicon carbon batteries. However, this is just a sign that claims of change in Samsung. However, previous reports revealed that Samsung is working on stacked battery technology. Which can improve the energy density by 10%. That is, 5500 mAh can be obtained on a 5000 mAh battery capacity. But now it is expected that Samsung can switch to silicon carbon technology with new technology as a better option.

Changes other than battery

Apart from the battery, Samsung is going to take a step towards another new change and that is the display. According to the report, it is said that Samsung can implement ‘Color-Filter-on-Thin-Film-Encapsulation’ (CoE) on its new flagship phone Galaxy S26 series in 2026. This technology replaces the polarizer plates in OLED with color filters and changes the normal pixel-defined layer (PDL) to black. Which reduces the thickness of the screen and provides high brightness.

Samsung is currently using this technology on all devices of its Galaxy Z Fold series. It can be implemented on the upcoming Galaxy S26 series as well. Stay tuned for more information about what other new changes will be made in the Samsung Galaxy S26 series.
